Christmas and cranberries are such an iconic duo. These small vibrant red berries tend to steal the show on Pinterest, Food Network and magazine covers during the holiday season. I can easily understand the appeal we have towards them after experimenting with them in the kitchen.
I was itching to do a little holiday baking and I came across a bag of cranberries that I bought to decorate with in the fridge. As my wheels began to turn thinking about the endless recipes, crafts, etc. I kept coming back to a recipe I have wanted to try for a while now – Sugared Cranberries. They always look effortlessly beautiful topping a cake, threaded as garland or even in a bowl, but I was always intimidated to try them, when it turns out they are actually very simple to make! I have linked the recipe here.
While the sugared cranberries are stunning, I am not the biggest fan of their raw tart flavor, I am however of their sweet baked flavor. Which is what sparked my want to whip up these delicious Sticky Fingers Bakeries Cranberry Scones from World Market. (Which by the way are on sale right now! How perfect would these be for your holiday gift baskets?) They are so delicious and all you have to do is add water, mix and bake! I did doctor mine up a tad with vanilla extract and white chocolate, but who says you have to follow the rules all the time? (;
I hope you have enjoyed all things cranberries and possibly found some inspiration to get in the kitchen this Christmas! I have also added a few other adorable ideas to do with cranberries.
XO, Ashton
