Dot Glasses DIY

Summer is right around the corner, which means patio parties, grilling outback and my personal favorite, poolside catching up on the latest Hollywood gossip. This also means everyone is knee deep in gathering up Summer décor. I can guarantee these painted dot glasses are sure to give your summer drinks an extra kick with little to no investment!

Supplies:

  • Glasses of your choice
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • A pencil
  • Craft paint

Start off by wiping down your glasses with rubbing alcohol. Using the eraser end of the pencil, dip into the paint and begin to create dots on your glass. Once you are satisfied with your lovely dot pattern, simply let them air dry for at least a week. Another option is to oven-cure. Once they have air dried for at least 72 hours, place them in a cool oven and set the temp to 350 degrees for 30 min. When the time is up, turn the oven off and let them completely cool before removing them to prevent cracking.

Even after your glasses are cured I do not recommend letting them sit in soapy water, the paint may come off! But they are top shelf dishwasher safe.

Be sure to also check out this DIY in Charm Magazine this month! Happy entertaining!

XO, Ashton

After moving back to my small East Texas hometown, starting a job in the corporate world and marrying my High School sweetheart all within a 6 month span, I began looking for a creative outlet. I love hosting and planning events, so much that I even received a Professional Event Management Certification at Texas A&M, so *poof* Sister Sage Co was born. Read More…
