My sweet Aunt Cheri has always been a notorious home cook. Can whip up just about anything for breakfast, lunch, and supper. Now baking, which this is true for almost everyone in our family when it comes to baking, we just pick up the phone and call Noni! So when I reached out to everyone about sharing a cookie recipe, I was so tickled with everyone’s immediate responses because every one of us can bake, after all, we learned from the best!
If you know my Aunt Cheri, which lots of you do, she is one of those people who just make you feel at home. She can tell a story like no one I have ever met and it could be the smallest story but she will grab your attention every time. She is also one of the only people who call us all by our first and middle name, and every time I hear Ashton Sage my heart just warms. Which come to think of it, these cream cheese cookies are a lot like that. They just make you feel at home.
- Yield: 1 dozen cookies
- 3 oz cream cheese softened
- 4 tbsp. margarine
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 1 c all-purpose flour
- 1 c chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together cream cheese and margarine. Once combined, add in your sugar and flour.
- Lastly, fold in your chopped pecans that way they do not get finely chopped in the mixer.
- Drop by level teaspoons onto a lined cookie sheet. Bake for about 12 minutes or until golden brown on the edges.
