This DIY is such a fun way to bring interest to any tablescape or simply jazz up your seasonal décor! I am a huge fan of vintage finds and bringing old things to life, so when I came across a stack of old books at a sale I could not pass up the paper crafting possibilities.
You could even go as far as selecting a book for the occasion, such as a romance novel for a wedding or nursery rhymes for a baby shower! This vintage book page runner DIY is a definite conversation piece.
Things you will need:
Matte Mod Podge
- Begin by unbinding the page of a book. That way you can release the pages without damaging the edges. Or you can ripe them out! It is all based upon the look you desire.
- Then begin gluing the pages together. No certain trick to the madness. I simply just kept layering them at different angles.
- In order to ensure the runner will work well with your table, you can measure the width of a runner you currently have and make the pages to those dimensions. I used the dimensions of one of mine and just created a longer length so it would drape onto the floor.
- Once you have your runner to the sizing of your liking, let the glue dry overnight before brushing it with matte mod podge to seal it from water damage.
We hope you give this DIY a try and share your creation with us!
